Mind
For me, everything is that deep

People tell me "it's not that deep." That I overthink. That there's no pattern here.
Pour moi, tout est that deep.
I do a lot of pattern recognition. I see links between things that look unrelated. Sometimes I see a pattern nobody else sees. And sometimes I see one that doesn't exist.
Same brain, both times.
When an exercise is too simple, I don't trust it. I look for a trap. Then I fail the exercise, because there was no trap.
I ask a lot of questions, because I want to know more. So sometimes people think I'm stupid. I also mask with questions. I ask them so the other person feels smart.
My thinking doesn't go in straight lines. It goes in spirals. I start in the middle of an idea, go out in every direction, and come back to the same thought from another side. School wanted a beginning, a middle and an end.
Some research suggests ADHD and autistic brains may have more connections between regions that usually aren't linked. I don't know how solid that is yet. It sounds like what happens in my head.
Sometimes the spiral finds something real. Sometimes I fail an easy test, looking for a trap that isn't there.
A pause
Before you go, take one slow minute.
In for four, hold for two, out for six. A longer exhale tells your body you are safe.
